MS Awareness 2008 - get involved!

We were thrilled that the Earl of Buckinghamshire hosted the Chilterns MS Centre Open Evening on Wednesday 28th November. Also in attendance was Mrs Jenny Hopkirk, the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire. We were very grateful for giving up her time as she was hosting Her Majesty the Queen the very next day in Milton Keynes!

It is important for the Centre to become better known in the community as often, unless someone is directly affected by Multiple Sclerosis, the general public are not aware of our existence. This is why we held the event:

We will be relocating to a new, purpose built building in 2009. Although the site developer is providing £950,000 towards the funding of this new building [as a community gain] we still need to raise £500,000 in order to fully equip the building with specialised kit for use with PWMS. In the first quarter of 2008 we plan to launch a public appeal to help raise the money required. The new building will provide more space & privacy for patients and enable us to see more people with MS and provide even more services for our patients, their carers and families.

We are delighted that the Bucks Herald has offered their commitment to support us throughout 2008. Amongst other things this will entail regular features about our appeal.

How can you as a local business benefit from this?
There will be opportunities to show your support of the Chilterns MS Centre publicly in the Bucks Herald news group. There will be cut price advertising on the Chilterns MS Centre page; this will be of mutual benefit, enabling you as a business to show to the local community that you are supporting your local charity. By using the above logo, incorporating the CSBN name, we believe we will become better known throughout the region as public awareness spreads.
