Summer Lunch

High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire helps to raise over £40,000 for the Centre

On 12 June a Summer Lunch was held in a marquee at the home of James Naylor, High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire and his wife Pippa. Despite the most dreadful weather, torrential rain and winds, the event raised an amazing £43,000. Charlie Ross our auctioneer raised over £22,000 in the auction thanks to some fabulous lots which were kindly donated.  We are extremely grateful to Greens Ltd and The Grass Company who sponsored the event which means every penny raised comes to the charity and we incurred no costs.  Tim Cooper of Dayla also provided all the wine and soft drinks at no cost to us.  World’s End sold beautiful plants donated by their suppliers raising £1,800. The weather prevented guests from enjoying the beautiful garden but didn’t dampen their spirits.  As always at these events volunteers played a key role in the success and smooth running of the day; grateful thanks must go to everyone who helped on the day.  The event of course would not have been such a success without the support of all the people who donated the raffle and auction prizes, from signed cookery books to a week’s holiday in a private villa in Spain.
