Chocs away! Rumsey’s names the Chilterns MS Centre as its charity of the year
Rumsey’s Handmade Chocolates has chosen the Chilterns MS Centre to be its charity of the Year for 2018. The award-winning chocolatier, based in Wendover and Thame, will raise much-needed funds to enable the continued treatment and support of people with multiple sclerosis (MS) from the local charity’s Wendover centre.
As well as donating their delicious cakes and chocolates, Rumsey’s will be involved in events, including the charity’s MS Awareness Week “Caring Cuppa” campaign. Rumsey’s staff also hopes to run the charity’s Prestwood 5k and 10k in May.
Kate Rumsey, Business Director, says ‘Rumsey’s Handmade Chocolates charity partnership is voted for by all our employees in the Thame and Wendover chocolateries. I’m thrilled my colleagues chose the Chilterns MS Centre for 2018 as it’s such a wonderful place. The main thing that struck me about the Centre was the sociable and positive atmosphere. It was a joy to meet the MS members, volunteers and staff and I am looking forward to seeing how Rumsey’s can raise lots of money for the charity through baking, running - and of course chocolate-making!”
“Everyone here at the Chilterns MS Centre whooped with joy when we heard Rumsey’s have taken us as their charity of the year!” says Hannah Asquith, the charity’s Head of Fundraising and Communications. “We’re a friendly and ambitious charity that’s determined to raise awareness of the support we offer local people affected by MS. Having a high street presence in Wendover and Thame will help us reach further into our local communities.” She continues “We have a personal relationship with every company that supports us. If you’d like to find out more about how we could help promote your brand and enhance your reputation locally, whilst helping your company make a meaningful difference to disadvantaged people in Bucks, Herts, Beds and surrounding counties, just get in touch!”.
Master chocolatier Nigel Rumsey has been creating his exquisite range of award-winning handmade chocolates since 1991. His simple aim has been to produce top quality products from the finest ingredients. Nigel and his wife Mary opened their first coffee shop in Wendover in 2004. Inspired by the film 'Chocolat', their aim was to provide a wonderful sumptuous environment in which to sit, eat lunch, drink coffee, tea or hot chocolate and choose from the wonderful selection of truffles, ganaches, pralines and petit fours. A second shop opened in Thame in 2007 and each shop is renowned for its charming atmosphere, friendly service, quality products, and as a place where you can relax and enjoy yourself in unpretentious style.
