Volunteer with us

We are growing and need YOU to grow with us...

Volunteers are a vital part of our organisation and help to improve and increase the range of support we are able to offer. Whatever time you are able to give us will make a difference to the lives of those living with Multiple Sclerosis. We have a wide range of opportunities to choose from and together we can ensure you enjoy the time you donate to us.

We take our responsibilities to our volunteers very seriously and we will provide you with comprehensive information, training and support as well as good humour, loads of interaction, a positive ambience and its fun for a couple of hours!

We offer you:

  • On-going training and support
  • New horizons and areas of interest
  • Regular meetings, talks and get-togethers
  • Christmas celebration

Here are samples of current volunteering vacancies with us. This is by no means exhaustive, particularly for people of more niche skill sets, so if you do not see a suitable opportunity or you have more general volunteering enquiries these can be made to This email address is being protected from spambots. Reception volunteers
view details

The Centre’s volunteer receptionists provide every visitor with a warm welcome and ensure that their visit to the Centre is handled safely, efficiently and in a friendly way.  Receptionists also handle all incoming telephone calls routing them to the appropriate person or taking messages.  Receptionists work in teams of two or three and there is often an opportunity to spend some time with patients and carers providing social support.  As Centre patients often come for treatment once a week on the same day, relationships quickly build up between receptionists and visitors making this role particularly fulfilling.

Café volunteers
view details

The café is a huge asset to the Centre and it operates 5 days a week serving teas, coffees, sandwiches, rolls, cakes and snacks.  As well as providing a valuable service to patients, carers, visitors and other users of the Centre (we have a number of groups hiring facilities at the Centre), the café raises a large amount of money for the Centre, turning over £20,400 in 2015

The café volunteer team is actively seeking additional volunteers to do a weekly 3 or 4 hour session working alongside other volunteers.  Guidance, support and training (if needed) will be provided.  Café volunteers enjoy a busy environment, a lively atmosphere and a sense of achievement.
