Self Management and Q&A with Prof Giovannoni and Dr Simonet
June 17 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

We are delighted to be welcoming Prof Gavin Giovannoni to Aylesbury Rugby Club to talk about some of the advances in MS research, particularly with regards to smouldering MS, and the role of self-management. We are even more pleased that Prof Giovannoni is bringing along one of his colleagues – Dr Cristina Simonet – who is also a renowned neurologist with a specialism in degenerative conditions including Parkinson’s.
Prof Giovannoni is widely regarded to be one of the leading experts on MS in the country. He is the Chair of Neurology at the Blizard Institute, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. He is also one of our lovely Patrons.
Dr Simonet is a Consultant Neurologist at the Homerton University Hospital where she runs a movement disorder clinic and cares for patients with Parkinson’s and related disorders. She graduated from the School of Medicine in the Autonoma University of Barcelona in 2012. She undertook a PhD in Neuroscience at QMUL which was focused on the early stages of Parkinson’s. Her interests are Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative disorders, particularly early identification and epidemiology, including environmental, clinical and genetic determinants. Apart from her job as a Consultant Neurologist, she is also a Research Associate at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health (QMUL) where she leads several research projects related to the Parkinson’s field.
If you’re a member of the Centre then we would love you to come and join us for what is going to be an incredibly informative session.
