Giving Tuesday Challenge

Giving Tuesday is an international day of giving, where charities hold fundraising events and encourage supporters to donate on one day of the year.  This year it takes place on Tuesday 27 November.

We are challenging all local businesses and supporters to do something for us to help us raise at least £1000 on that day.  There will be a bottle of bubbly for the company that raises the most on that day.  Tweet or post what you are doing, tag us in the post and include #givingtuesday and we will share on our social media for you too.

Any company that does want to hold a fundraiser for us, and be in with a chance to win a bottle of bubbly, should contact Sharon Cooper by email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

We will also be holding a fundraiser on our Facebook page for that day, so if you want to donate but don’t want to run your own activity you can still support us on the day.

If we can raise £1000, that will fund almost six months of weekly physiotherapy for one of our members, to help them to reach an important goal.  People like Sue, who had physiotherapy to help with her balance and walking, which meant that she suffered less falls and could stand in her daughter’s wedding photos.  This to her was priceless.

“When I first came in, I was walking with a walker and my balance was terrible. I was falling over all the time. Then I started physio with Mirka and we used the dynamic mat and now my balance is so much better. I’m walking with just a stick now and I’ve only had one fall in the last year. I was so thrilled to be able to stand for my daughter’s wedding photos. I didn’t want to be there with my stick so that was a major thing for me.”

Help us to help more people like Sue by supporting us this #GivingTuesday.
